Dear Fellow Earl Township Taxpayer:
They are at it again, so I am at it again too.
It was not enough for Bill Moyer and John Hetrick to bully six families from their homes along Manatawny Rd and try to put the Tiki Bar out of business by eminent domain.(1)
Now they are putting liens on several homeowners along Manatawny Road.(2) Who will be next on their list?
In other news, the Landfill at current daily dumping tonnage rates will be active for at least 15 more years. Expansion permits, if granted or mandated by the courts or the Department of Environmental Protection, may extend dumping activities by five or ten years beyond that. Not that we want expansions, but the reality is what it is.(3)
The Earl Township Treasury currently exceeds $33,757,458.22. That’s Thirty-three Million Dollars.(5)
It is only about time that we pass legislation that REFUNDS the Earl Township Earned Income Tax. This is a hidden backdoor Tax, which Bill Moyer and John Hetrick steadfastly refuse to refund to you. This Tax is unnecessary. Refunds to the 1,929 hard working residents of Earl Township, based on current collections, will exceed $359,990.(4)
Separately, we need to give $600.00 to each Earl Twp. Household, on a continuing annual basis. Pa. State law allows all Townships to do this legally under the 2nd Class Township Code section 1542.
Combined, by the end of this year, Moyer and Hetrick will have stuffed into their pockets over $97,269.00in pay and benefits since elected Earl Township Supervisors and not one penny in ours.
Think about it!!! Politicians in Washington received a pay increase of $4,700.00 this year.(6) Politicians in Harrisburg received a $2,152.00 raise this year.(7) Selfishness is pervasive, local politicians are not immune to this ugly trait.
Bill Moyer and John Hetrick continue to stuff their pockets while ignoring our every day needs.
Let’s do something for ourselves,
Let’s make Earl Township a better place to Live,
On May 19th, Please Vote
Pat Davis
for Supervisor
Earl Township
